The birth of a planet is a phenomenon we have never been able to observe before. Astronomers and scientists have recreated dozens of times with the help of simulation software as the process would be thanks to the data collected in years. However, NASA captured, thanks to SPHERE, the instrument that is in Chile’s VeryLargeTelescope, the first image of the birth of a planet.

The team of astronomers was able to receive and confirm what would become the first image of a newborn planet, opening up between dust and space gas and orbiting around the dwarf star PDS 70. The data were obtained by the most advanced visible light observatory on the planet, which is strategically located in Chile.
The researchers called it PDS 70b, and although it has not received any “first name”, the enthusiasm is immense. In the images you can see that this is a bright spot located in the blackened central right side of the snapshot, as published in a first article. A second work published by Astronomy and Astrophysics magazine, this black dot is due to the use of a device known as a chronograph, which can block the light coming from the star in order to observe objects with less illumination.

Miram Keppler, a researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Astronomy, explained that the disks around the newest stars are the place where planets have their births, but so far there have only been a lot of clues about their births. Emphasizing that this is indeed the first time that the creation of a new world has been observed.
The planet is located at a distance of about 3 billion kilometres from its star. A distance that could emulate that of Uranus in relation to the sun, the seventh planet in our solar system.
Undoubtedly it is an experience that anyone would like to live, in birth of a new planet but many scientists wonder if the birth of a new planet could mean the end of others, would the earth ever leave its space for a new planet?
