WASP-104b is the darkest extrasolar planet there is.
Scientists have conducted various studies on all the exoplanets in the universe and each one of them has impressive individual characteristics, however, there is one in particular that has generated astonishment in the scientific and civil community in general. It is an extrasolar planet whose appearance is totally black due to its deficit in reflecting light, and it is also at a minimum distance from its star and that means that no clouds are generated in its atmosphere.
WASP-104b is 466 light years away from the earth, it is called a hot Jupiter, because its proximity to the star that rules it makes it an extremely hot exoplanet and the darkest celestial body in the universe. The orbit of this gaseous planet is 1.75 days around its bright celestial body, this caused its atmosphere to be totally annihilated due to radiation levels, allowing sodium and potassium to increase and no clouds to exist in the adjacent areas.

Jupiter are considered hot planets because their common feature is to stay close to their star, however, WASP-104b has an even alarming proximity, so it is totally black, absorbs 97 to 99% light and lacks cold areas. The exoplanet is so hot that there is no ice on it. On the other hand, its color is not exactly a black itself, scientists make that reference because the celestial body cannot reflect the light it absorbs.
Another characteristic of this extra-solar planet is that at least half of the planet is permanently illuminated, i.e. it is daylight all the time. Experts continue to study both WASP-104b and the other celestial bodies in the universe to find more similarities or important differences between them.
