The universe has many extrasolar planets, but this one may be habitable.
There are about 300 extrasolar planets in the universe and each of them has undergone different studies to determine their type of atmosphere and the elements that may be similar to those of the earth. Now, one of those planets, named by scientists as Proxima B, has similar characteristics to our celestial body, in fact, it is estimated that it may be habitable in the near future.
Proxima B was discovered in 2016 and has been the subject of studies since that discovery. The scientists in charge of each investigation affirm that it is similar in size to the earth, shares the same type of atmosphere and, apparently, the natural elements of the extra-solar globe are almost equal to those of our planet. In this sense, it seems that the experts could plan a mission to the next B to colonize it.
The extra-solar planet is one of the few bodies in the universe with water
Scientists at the University of Exeter, in doing the atmospheric studies of the exoplanet, realized that it is located in one of the inhabitable zones of Centauri, its star. In this sense, it receives enough natural light to hold liquid water right on its surface. Currently the studies being carried out are to know the climate of Proxima B, so that all aspects of the celestial body can be controlled to plan a space mission.
The experts began with simulations of the supposed extrasolar planet’s climate with ours using the Met Office Unified Model and, although other scientists claim that other studies are needed to confirm all the hypotheses mentioned above, according to the results the exoplanet could be habitable in the future. At the moment we are trying to decipher the total temperature of Proxima B, so the monitoring continues until the experts find new positive or negative aspects of it.
